  1. Hi Nick,

Nice to meet a fellow North Carolinian. I’m a senior content curator at DZone.com (we’re based in Cary, NC). We’re a developer content network and I was really impressed by your blog. I’d like to ask about some possibilities for featuring your blog on our site. Shoot me an email if you’re interested.

  2. Speaking of Chinese rooms, you should read “Memory Palace of Mateo Ricci”, by Jonathan Spence. The Jesuit priest stunned his Chinese scholars in 1596 by learning Chinese faster and better than they, using a mind game in which he built a huge palace, each room having one character. Perhaps this was an early but advanced form of artificial intelligence.
